Kelpy

Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026

Kelpy is a baby monitor that works only on your home network.

What we collect: nothing. Kelpy has no accounts and no servers, and it contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking software.

Video and sound go directly from your camera phone to the phones you paired with it, over your home Wi-Fi, encrypted end to end (WebRTC DTLS-SRTP inside a link authenticated with keys stored in each phone's secure storage). They are never sent to us or anyone else.

Clips and the sleep log you choose to keep are stored only on the phone that made them. Uninstalling Kelpy deletes them.

Purchases. If you start the free trial or buy Kelpy Pro or a tip, the App Store or Google Play handles it under their own privacy policies. Kelpy receives only whether the purchase succeeded and, for the trial, when it started.

Problem reports. If you choose Report a problem, Kelpy opens an email in your own mail app with your phone model, system version and app version, and anything you write. Nothing is sent unless you send that email. We use it only to answer you and fix the problem, and delete it when we're done.

Permissions. Camera and microphone (to watch and listen, and to scan the pairing code), local network (to find and reach your own phones), notifications on Android (to keep monitoring with the screen off).

Children. Kelpy does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
